Notion AI is an AI-powered productivity tool integrated within the Notion workspace platform. It helps users automate note-taking, generate content, summarize information, and organize tasks efficiently. Key features include AI-assisted writing, smart task management, content summarization, and collaborative workspace enhancements.
In my experience, Notion AI reminds me of a super-charged Microsoft OneNote. If you've never used Notion before, it can be intimidating, but once you figure out how to setup your documents, meeting notes, and projects, it's incredible. However, the magic truly lies in its AI offering, Notion AI. Its ability to quickly summarize meeting notes allows me to focus on action items without getting bogged down in details. I also appreciate how it allows me to ask questions based on my current projects (demo below), making my workflow more efficient and less stressful.

Welcome back to my content series, 50 Empowering AI Tools and Use Cases. Today we'll be covering our second tool, perhaps the most widely used AI tool on the planet, ChatGPT.
On Tuesdays, we'll focus on Writing, Communication, & Research, which is AI that improves how we write, communicate, and discover information. Let's get into it!
ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, is a conversational AI assistant that can generate human-like text, answer questions, brainstorm ideas, and help you draft everything from emails to essays. Accessible via web and mobile, ChatGPT is designed to be your on-demand writing partner, research assistant, and brainstorming buddy, all rolled into one.
As arguably the first AI tool I used in 2022, ChatGPT has set the standard for what's truly possible with AI. Realistically, the only limitation is your mind. Initially, hallucinations were fairly common, and the limitation on its training data meant that current news and real-world events could not be referenced in its replies. However, halfway through 2025, with simple prompts, hallucinations have dropped dramatically and ChatGPT can reference live websites. The big thing to note is that we all need to be critical thinkers when using any AI tool, and that extends to ChatGPT. Always verify what ChatGPT tells you, especially if it involves math, current events, or specialized knowledge.

Canva Magic Studio is Canva's suite of AI-powered creative tools designed to make graphic design accessible to everyone, regardless of skill level. With features like Magic Design, Magic Write, Magic Edit, and AI image generation, Canva Magic Studio enables users to create stunning visuals, presentations, social media posts, and more in just a few clicks. Whether you need to remove backgrounds, generate custom images, or instantly draft engaging content, Canva's AI tools streamline the creative process.
I know it's early in the series, but this is hands down one of my favourite tools. When I'm building out content, Canva Magic Studio can give me a fantastic editable foundation. I take its outputs and with very minor tweaks, can get them into a place where I am very happy with the results. If you're able to articulate your vision in the prompt, it matches or exceeds your expectations on the first attempt. I also love that it simultaneously generates multiple options. It's honestly a game-changer for anyone who needs to create visual content but doesn't have extensive design skills or time.

Our fifth tool is ElevenLabs.
ElevenLabs is an advanced AI voice synthesis platform that allows you to generate highly realistic and expressive speech from text. The tool offers a wide range of voices and languages, and even lets you create custom voices based on your own recordings. With its intuitive interface and powerful API, ElevenLabs makes it easy to convert written content into natural-sounding audio for podcasts, audiobooks, videos, and more.
While I personally have only used the free version of ElevenLabs, I can't say enough how bullish I am on Voice AI. I believe that tools like ElevenLabs can play a critical role in multi-agent systems, and we are quickly getting to a point where you won't be able to determine whether you are talking to a real person or an AI Avatar/Agent. The amount of time this can save companies is a game-changer! As for ElevenLabs itself, it is an incredibly simple tool, with a variety of very realistic voices to choose from.

Microsoft Copilot is an AI-powered assistant built directly into Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. It helps users draft documents, analyze data, manage emails, and summarize meetings, all within the tools many of us use every day. Copilot leverages advanced language models to understand context and provide intelligent suggestions, making your workflow smoother and more efficient.
My experience with Copilot in Windows has been solid! It's a helpful, free tool that makes everyday tasks a bit smoother. While it's similar to classic LLM experiences, it does offer quick answers and some useful shortcuts right from the desktop. My favourite feature is the ability to toggle between Quick Response, Think Deeper, and Deep Research. For the demo below, I focused on Copilot in Windows, but it's clear that the real depth and integration comes with Microsoft 365 Copilot in the workplace.

Claude has transformed how I approach knowledge work and communication, bringing the cost of complex analysis down to virtually zero. I've found it particularly powerful for bridging the notorious technical-business divide. When explaining emerging technologies like MCP to executives, I simply frame my request with clear context and specify my audience for precise, credible insights. The tool's research capabilities have been game-changing for building credibility in new domains, turning what used to be weeks of research into hours of targeted exploration.

Starting my AI Management Masters just last year, I watched Midjourney evolve from obvious AI tells like seven fingers and characters phasing through walls to something nearly indistinguishable from human art. As someone who grew up with next to zero artistic skill, this tech doesn't just impress me; it completely democratizes forms of creativity. What excites me most isn't the technical wizardry, but how it removes the barrier between having a vision and bringing it to life. For business applications, it's become my go-to for rapid prototyping of visual concepts and brand exploration.

GitHub Copilot is an AI-powered coding assistant developed by GitHub in collaboration with OpenAI. It integrates directly into popular code editors like Visual Studio Code and suggests code completions, entire functions, and even complex algorithms as you type. Copilot understands dozens of programming languages and adapts to your coding style, making it a valuable tool for both beginners and experienced developers.
When I started my career, I remember a mentor telling me that the main difference between a beginner and a veteran coder was how much faster the veteran could find the answer on StackOverflow. However, I now believe that the difference is how well the veteran can describe the specifications of exactly what they want from their coding agent. GitHub Copilot plugs right into Visual Studio Code, and for me, has saved an incredible amount of my time. Instead of writing code and copying from online sources, I can describe what I want and Copilot generates it directly in my editor.

We have finally reached double digits (#10) with today's tool, Murf.
Murf is an AI-powered voice generator that enables you to create high-quality, natural-sounding voiceovers from text. With a wide selection of voices, languages, and accents, Murf is designed for professionals who need audio for presentations, e-learning, podcasts, videos, and more. The platform also offers features like voice customization, pitch and speed adjustments, and background music integration, making it easy to produce polished audio content without the need for recording equipment or professional voice talent.
While I haven't found the need to leverage Murf in my projects yet, I will say that I am more impressed with the natural sounding voices than previous voice AI tools I have reviewed. The ability to not only select from an incredible library of voices but also select a wide variety of emotions is awesome. I also enjoyed the "Cap Cut" like feel, with the ability to upload media directly to Murf. Very interesting tool!

Gemini understands prompts across multiple formats and delivers context-aware suggestions, summaries, and creative outputs.
I generally work within the Microsoft ecosystem, but I have to say, Gemini's seamless integration with the Google Productivity Suite has completely blown me away! The way it pulls context directly from Gmail and Google Drive is an absolute game-changer.
In the demo below, you'll see Gemini in action, connecting to YouTube and diving into Peter Diamandis' 74-minute "Moonshot" podcast with Richard Socher. What's truly incredible is its ability to extract Richard's top 10 key takeaways from the entire conversation! This means I'm no longer limited to just one podcast a day. Instead, I can quickly identify interesting points across multiple podcasts and then choose which ones to listen to based on the recap. If I were a Google Ecosystem user, this would definitely be my go-to LLM.

Perplexity AI is an advanced conversational search and answer platform that combines the intelligence of leading language models with real-time web results. Rather than serving up just a list of links, Perplexity AI provides clear, direct answers to your questions in a chat-style interface. It also includes up-to-date citations so you can quickly verify information or explore deeper. Users can upload documents, images, or PDFs, and have the AI summarize, organize, or analyze that content.
I'm a huge fan of Perplexity AI. It's one of the few tools I actually subscribe to with Perplexity Pro. In the early days of LLMs, responses were limited to outdated training data, but Perplexity changed the game completely. It works like a search engine powered by AI, pulling real-time info from across the web and always citing its sources so you know exactly where the information is coming from.
My favourite feature is "Spaces." I can upload documents, notes, and links for any project, turning it into a personalized knowledge hub. Whenever I have a question, Perplexity uses that context to provide smart, accurate answers while keeping everything organized. It's become an essential part of how I work.

Whether you want a professional illustration, a product mockup, or a creative visual for marketing, DALL-E 3 can help. You simply describe what you want, and the AI interprets your vision, delivering multiple high-resolution options.
Whenever I need to generate an image like an informational poster, or something fun to share with my friends and clients, DALL-E 3 is my go-to image generator. I access it by pressing the create image button in the tools section. It's come an incredibly long way in the past year and is significantly better than anything I could craft on my own. My best use case has been creating promotional images for events like the McDonough Stampede Charity Classic or the Dinos 5th Quarter Alumni event.

I'm a huge fan of the saying "Move Fast and Break Things", and Bubble's ability to quickly prototype from a basic sentence enables exactly that. I really enjoyed the part of the process where, based on my prompt, Bubble lists out the key features of my desired Web app. It feels like going back and forth with a developer to ensure you share the same understanding of what you want built. Although I didn't get the map to work on my 2-minute demo, it allowed me to quickly prototype the foundation for a really cool rental property app.

Some might think there's not a huge use case for this tech, but I totally disagree. This has massive potential in education and language, where songs can provide memorable ways to learn new concepts or languages.

Coming from an Alteryx background, I'm no stranger to low or no-code workflow tools, but n8n truly impressed me. I had so much fun building a demo that sends me a Teams message every morning, summarizing yesterday's emails by priority. It's amazingly intuitive and actually saves me the daily hassle of sorting through my inbox to decide what needs a reply. If you're curious about costs, the API calls to Perplexity run less than a tenth of a cent each, so running this automation daily costs practically nothing.

Riverside is a fantastic app for editing content and cutting out the manual work needed to capture attention. It's super easy to use. With the NFL season coming up, I tested it by upgrading our old Fantasy Football draft order video hosted by Scott Hansen. (Shoutout to Jackson McDonough for being the best commissioner there is and getting these videos.) Riverside quickly added captions and improved the video in seconds. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to take their capture and editing to the next level.
